Like any industry, trends come and go in the plastic surgery world. One year, mommy makeovers are all the rage, and the next, men all over the country are clamoring for calf implants. Next year will be no different, with new trends hitting the market as soon as New Year’s Day rolls around.
So what does 2016 hold for plastic surgery? San Antonio expert Dr. Elizabeth Harris has the scoop:
- awline contouring – As we age, many of us develop jowls, giving us a haggard look that shows our years. In 2016, we expect more people – both men and women – to address these issues and opt for jawline contouring, as well as chin and facial liposuction, to get a sleeker, more angular face, despite their age.
- Tummy tuck – There is a growing trend in the nation today—healthier lifestyles. More and more people are eating better and exercising more. As their body and lifestyle changes, many will turn to a tummy tuck to remove excess fat and skin and complete their transformation with a new look.
- Cheek and chin implants – As selfies become more and more proliferate, facial plastic surgeries will continue to rise. Things like cheek and chin implants have grown popular in the last few years, and 2016 will see that continue. We also anticipate more demand for facial fat-grafting.
- Fillers – Though not technically a “surgery,” pouty-lipped stars like Kylie Jenner have brought attention to lip injectables and fillers. Next year, expect these procedures to become even more popular with the average American woman.
