Facelift

Sun exposure, weight fluctuation, and the natural aging process make skin loosen and sag, resulting in wrinkles and jowls. The muscles on the neck can slacken, too, causing you to look years older than you are. Face lift is a surgical procedure designed to eliminate face and neck wrinkles simultaneously, thereby rejuvenating the skin and restoring your youthful appearance. Fresh, taut skin can make you look decades younger!

First, incisions are made along the hairline, by the ear, on the chin, or along the earlobe, and excess skin is lifted and removed. The remaining skin is then smoothed, tightened and secured with sutures or small metal clips. Depending on the condition of your skin and your desired results, the procedure may take up to three hours. Side effects may include swelling, numbness, bruising, and tightness, but most patients report little pain and only minor discomfort.

Facelifts can also be performed with the minimal incision approach, also known as the "MACS" lift. The MACS lift (minimal access cranial suspension lift) reduces the size of the incision and the amount of skin undermining. The deep tissue is "lifted" with the suspension sutures precisely placed to maximize benefits. Liposuction of the neck is frequently combined with the MACS lift. It is best suited for a younger patient with sagging in the face and neck.

Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery (Upper and Lower Eyelid Lift)

Droopy, puffy eyes and eyelids can make you appear tired or older than you are. Eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, can restore the skin around your eyes to its natural, youthful appearance and drastically reduce the signs of aging. In some cases, it can even improve vision impaired by sagging lids.

First, an incision is made along the lid, and excess fat, muscle, and skin are trimmed away from the eyelid. This outpatient procedure, which typically takes one to three hours, is performed under anesthesia and is considered to be permanent in many cases--although it will not prevent natural aging. Post surgery, dry eyes, swelling, bruising, and sensitivity to light may occur, but such side effects will fade within 10 days.

Fillers

Botox®

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

One 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and within days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, which can last up to 4 months. Results may vary.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

n 2005, almost 3.3 million procedures were performed with FDA-approved BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Restylane® and Juvederm®

Fillers have become quite popular because there is little or no down time. These products give shape, smooth wrinkles and folds, and give contour and enhance with the body's own natural material called hyaluronic acid. Because Restylane® and Juvederm® are natural products, there are minimal risks of eliciting allergic reactions from their use. After injections, the gel binds with water and generally remains for many months. Juvederm® is a smoother gel, and may last longer than Restylane®. Gaining the look you desire is possible in a single office visit, and no pre-testing is necessary. Call our office to schedule an appointment.

Radiesse®

This next generation dermal filler goes beyond filling folds and wrinkles. Radiesse® works with your body to stimulate new collagen and deliver a natural look that lasts. Newly FDA approved, this filler is longer lasting and requires fewer injections than the other facial fillers. Radiesse® is made of unique calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure. Radiesse® does more than just temporarily fill-in facial folds and wrinkles—it rebuilds your skin's foundation and restores your youthful look. Fat Injections

Fat Injections

Fat injections involve the injection of one's own fat - taken from other parts of the body - into the lips or to fill fine lines and wrinkles. Although fat injections and other procedures that involve the transfer of one's own fatty tissues show some promise, they do not provide permanent results because most of the fat is absorbed . Fat injections therefore require "maintenance" for lasting results. Please contact the Center for Cosmetic Surgery today for more information on fat injections.
