Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure designed to increase and enhance breast size. The end result is a more curvaceous, sexy bustline and a natural sculpted look.
Where are the incisions made?
Dr. Harris performs the three most popular incisions. The incisions include the base of the nipple-areola complex, under the arm (endoscopic axillary) and under the breast in the inframammary crease. Some patients are a candidate for only one type of incisions, other patients may choose between the three. The doctor will determine what you are a candidate for and guide you with your decision.
What kinds of implants are used?
Most of our patients choose smooth, round saline implants. Silicone is often used as well. The doctor will discuss the benefits and trade-offs of each.
How do I pick out my size?
Measurements as well as trying on different size implants will help to determine the size. The doctor will determine the size after listening to each patient's needs.
What kind of information will I receive?
During your initial visit, you will have a complete discussion with the doctor who will examine you. The doctor will discuss the risks, benefits and alternatives with you. You will also be given detailed brochures as well as consultation sheets describing the surgery.

Breast Reduction
"I was always self-conscious about the size of my breasts, especially since I matured early. I consulted with several plastic surgeons and chose Dr. Harris because of her artistic background and experience. I am delighted with my appearance and minimal scars."

Women who experience back, neck and shoulder pain, bra strap indentations on the shoulders and general discomfort are an unfortunate reality for women with exceptionally large, heavy breasts. Breast reduction is a procedure during which the breasts are made smaller and more proportionate to the body.
What kinds of incisions are used?
Our doctors specialize in the vertical or 'minimal scar' incision. This incision is a scar around the nipple and another incision leading down in a straight, vertical line resembling a 'lollipop' shaped scar.
Women with extremely large breasts would need the more standard incision which resembles an 'anchor'. This means that the scar is around the nipple, a straight vertical line and a horizontal incision along the inframammary crease.
Is the nipple left attached?
In the vast majority of breast reductions, the nipple is left attached to the breast. In the minority of breast reduction patients in which the patients have extremely, extremely large breasts, occasionally the nipple would need to be removed and reattached as a 'free nipple graft'.
What information will I receive during the consultation?
Patients will always be seen by the doctor and the doctor will discuss the risks, benefits and alternatives of the procedure after examining the patient. Detailed consultation sheets, brochures and photographs will be discussed at the initial visit.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Pregnancy, nursing, excessive weight loss or gain, or the natural aging process can cause breasts to lose their natural elasticity. Breasts may begin to sag or hang penduously. Breast lift can take years off your body by correcting a drooping bustline, restoring your curves to their youthful state. During the procedure, excess skin and tissue are trimmed away and the bustline is tightened and lifted. Remaining tissue and the nipples are also repositioned for the most natural-looking results. Risks include scarring, temporary bruising, swelling, and loss of feeling in the breasts or nipples. However, breast lift is considered an extremely safe, effective procedure. Breast lift, which takes one or more hours to complete, is often performed in conjunction with breast augmentation. If your breasts sag but you would rather avoid the scars of mastopexy, please set a consultation to speak with us about alternative surgery. Please contact the Center for Cosmetic Surgery today for more information on breast lift.

Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is commonly performed on women who have had a mastectomy (removal of the breast due to cancer or pre cancerous condition) or who have breast deformities. Many women feel very insecure or self-conscious about their breasts' appearances and abnormalities resulting from a mastectomy, and breast reconstruction allows those natural curves to be restored. Using tissue, skin, fat, or breast implants, the surgeon creates a replacement breast that is quite similar to the one that was removed. The new breast can drastically improve the quality of the patient's life.
If you are considering breast reconstruction, we can answer any questions or address any concerns you might have. We handle such inquiries with the utmost sensitivity and discretion. Please contact the Center for Cosmetic Surgery today for more information on breast reconstruction.
