BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced
by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the
muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.
It's
also been proven safe and effective for non-traditional facial rejuvenation
procedures; alleviating migraines and excessive perspiration.

One 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and
within days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines
between the brows, which can last up to 4 months. Results may vary. In 2005,
almost 3.3 million procedures were performed with FDA-approved BOTOX® Cosmetic.
-
Botulinum toxin, or what is
more commonly known as BOTOX®,
is a new concept in treating facial wrinkles.
-
BOTOX works by weakening the
resting tone of facial expression muscles. Once weakened, the pull of the
muscles relax and the skin flattens out.
-
By physiologically weakening
the muscles, the wrinkles are diminished naturally. This is an entirely
different approach to treating the aging face.
-
Goretex, Collagen and
Autogolous fat injections work by filling in a wrinkle. However, these fillers
are not as effective as BOTOX in treating wrinkles in the upper third of the
face.
-
Botox takes about three to
five days to take effect and lasts between three and six months. The treatment
is most effective for forehead lines, Crow’s feet and the frown lines.
-
Botox is utilized to enhance
your appearance and works best on persons between the ages of 30 and 50, when
facial wrinkles are more likely to be caused by muscle pull and not
sun-damaged skin.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical,
physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe
frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the
only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
